First thing this morning, even before breakfast, I went down to the workshop, removed the screws holding the gammon iron in place and then removed the gammon iron itself. After removing the parcel tape the epoxy looked fairly good.

As can be seen from this photo, there are a couple of places on this side where more epoxy is needed to fill in the gaps into which the epoxy has not flowed.

Likewise with this side.

The front of the epoxy will also need to be trimmed so that it is flat instead of being wrinkled, but so far the mounting is looking good.
